16/03/2011 OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Services) is one of System Management International Standard which a recently published on 2007 from OHSAS 18000:1999 to OHSAS 18001:2007, where it major in Occupational Health and Safety aspects (K3) rather than Safety Product.
Occupational Health and Safety (K3) is a major productivity influence of Company. Entrepreneurs are expected to give their employee a priority to minimal a risk of an accident or to make a zero accident or disease because of work. Therefore it needs an understanding then can be applied in daily activity of the Company.OHSAS 18001 providing a framework to management K3 effectiveness including conform with the regulators. In this case in 2006 Secretary of Labor set up a regulations on Sistem Management Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (SMK3), Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 5 of 1996 (PERMENAKER 5/1996).Needs to underline that OHSAS is not ISO Certification because OHSAS also published an Independent Certification that certainly in International Standard which similar to ISO Certification.Similarly with Indonesia’s own products, SMK3 and OHSAS obviously different but have similarities that published the Certificate and the same field about Health and Safety Management.
It needs a special training before beginning the Implementation
- To have a better understanding about System Management Health and
- Safety based on OHSAS 18001 and SMK3.
- To have a better Analysis when apply on the Company.
- To have a quick response to Implement, Maintain and Perform Repairs
- when there is inconformity
The standard of this Implementation can be apply on each organization which have a willingness to minimal an accident for every employee and who ever have relevancy with K3 risk. The companies which have the OHSAS 18001 implementation usually have an organized management structure with firm authority and responsibility, clearly maintain the objectives, result of the achievement which measure and approach to value the risk. On the other hand, there has supervision to failure management, implementation internal audit, review the policy and the objective of K3.Benefits of OHSAS Implementation, there are:
- To reduce the waste operational cost and time because of accident and
- decline an employee health.
- To fulfill regulations about Management System of K3, and having an
- influential to
- some organization and their pre-customer.
- Increase a controller to management risk through knowing the hazard of
